FURTHER READING
This Vacheron Constantin ref. 7390 powered by the caliber K1120 self-winding movement is rhodium plated and has fausses côtes and oeil de perdrix decorations. It is constructed with 36 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a self-compensating flat balance spring, a shock absorber, a rotor with a 21K gold segment, a nickel-finished lever movement stamped with the seal of Geneva, and a Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions.
This mechanism oscillates at the frequency of 19,800 vph (2.75 Hz).
Introduced in 1967, the movement K1120 was designed and manufactured (but not finished) by Jaeger LeCoultre as the known caliber 920, resulting from a development project involving Vacheron Constantin Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe.
In production for a third of a century, this movement is considered the thinnest full-rotor self-winding movement to this day and of all time.
Fun fact: Jaeger LeCoultre never used this movement in a watch of its own.
